Betty Sawyer, Director of Social Services at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor, Retiring After 14 Years of Dedication and Friendship to Thomasville Seniors

The community is invited to a Nov. 13 reception and open house at the Thomasville, GA senior living facility, to say farewell

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (Nov. 9, 2015) – Legacy Village at Plantation Manor will say farewell next week to Betty Sawyer, beloved Director of Social Services of 14 years and friend to many Thomasville area seniors.

• The community is invited to a reception and open house on Friday, Nov. 13, between 2:30 and 4 p.m. at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor, 220 Park Ave., in Sawyer’s honor.

Serving as the facility’s social services director since 2001, Sawyer came to Legacy Village at Plantation Manor after serving as a social worker for the state of Georgia. Since that time, she has built a wide reputation among residents, families and caregivers as a caring social worker and public speaker.

“Betty has been such a blessing to our family at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor these last 14 years,” says Renita Carnes, area director of operations for Legacy Senior Services, an assisted living network which manages the Thomasville senior living facility. “Her dedication to our residents and her sensitivity to their needs have helped to cultivate a true sense of unity, harmony and professionalism in our community. We will be forever grateful for the love, compassion and personal attention she has provided to so many Thomasville seniors.”

Sawyer, a long-time resident of Thomasville, plans to spend her retirement traveling with her great-grandson.

“Retiring from my duties at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor and, particularly, leaving the residents is a bittersweet time for me,” said Sawyer. “This I know, I will be back to see them!”
