THOMASVILLE, Ga. (March 21, 2018) – Legacy Village at Plantation Manor is proud to announce that they are recipients of “Lindsey’s Love” beautiful handmade sensory blankets designed to stimulate the senses of those living with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Lindsey’s Love Blankets is a ministry that was initiated by Brenda Houchins, of Valdosta, in honor of her daughter, Lindsey Houchins, after her passing last year.
Lindsey was known as the heartbeat of the family, always vibrant and full of life. Lindsey was born with Down Syndrome and spent most of her days with family and friends.
To honor Lindsey’s love for others and life, Brenda began making sensory blankets for those living with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Each blanket is handmade and embroidered on the bottom corner of the unique blanket, it reads, “Lindsey’s Love.” Brenda has donated over 100 blankets since she began this ministry throughout Georgia and Florida.
“We are so honored to have received ten of the handmade Lindsey’s Love Blankets for our residents of The Harbor at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor. We appreciate this ministry for not only their donation, but for making a difference in the lives of individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease,” said Deidre Yates, executive director of Legacy Village at Plantation Manor.
