Legacy Village at Plantation Manor Names Allen Chambers as Executive Director

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (March 11, 2021) - Allen Chambers has been named Executive Director of Legacy Village at Plantation Manor, following six years of increased leadership responsibility within the Legacy Senior Living network of senior living communities across the Southeast.

Chambers began his tenure with the Legacy Village family as a weekend employee at Plantation Manor’s sister location in Rome, Georgia, while completing his Assisted Living Administrators license. He quickly moved into the role of marketing coordinator at another sister facility in Jacksonville, Alabama, and later as executive director at another facility in Moultrie.

“I have been so graciously welcomed by the Thomasville community, and I’m incredibly excited to be part of Legacy Village at Plantation Manor, which so many wonderful seniors call home. While I might be a little new to Thomasville, I’m very familiar with the ‘Legacy Standard’ -- it’s more than a career; it’s a calling to serve the greatest generation. It is such a privilege to be serving the seniors of Thomasville,” Chambers said.

After playing football for two years at Berry College in Rome, Chambers ultimately completed his degree in psychology from Kennesaw State University.

With a successful vaccination campaign completed in February of 2021, Legacy Village at Plantation Manor has opened socially distant visitation to family and friends, a development which Chambers says brings him a great sense of optimism and gratitude.

Although the senior living community is following strict adherence to COVID-19 prevention guidelines, Chambers is stepping into the role with an open-door policy, stating, “I’m here to serve, and I look forward to meeting everyone safely and in-person soon. The Legacy mission and values are incredibly important to me, and I’m excited to get to work bringing them to the forefront of everything we do here.”

Chambers, a devout man of faith, married his wife, Madison, in May of 2020. He enjoys playing board games -- although he regularly loses to his wife in Scrabble -- listening to vinyl records, cooking, and watching anything sports-related. The couple looks forward to making their new home in Thomasville.
